If you are hosting a holiday party this year, these easy DIY Glitter Epsom Salt Luminaries from The Inspired Room might be perfect to light the way.

For another luminary idea, why not make these Vinyl Luminaries from Lowe’s? I love how simple they are and they can be used year after year, too.

DIY Cuteness has a very nice looking DIY North Pole Sign that is sure to delight the neighborhood especially if yours has lots of kids.

I saw these wood reindeer all over when I was looking for ideas to put in this list and this tutorial for them is perfect and easy to follow from Designer Trapped. I just love the rustic feel of them, don’t you?

17 Apart has a very nice and frugal craft on their blog for DIY Tomato Cage Lighted Trees. This is a great way to get more use out of your last season’s gardening stuff and use it for Christmas!

While there are no real instructions on this simple potted outdoor decor from Plough Your Own Furrow, I think it’s a pretty simple idea that doesn’t really need explaining and looks amazing and simple.

I love the look of a giant sized candy confection for Christmas and this tutorial on How to DIY Gingerbread your House form the Hallmark Channel is so simple and cute!

For a vintage flair, make these DIY Lighted Outdoor Christmas Gifts from DIY Vintage Chic. They are much cheaper than the ones the big name stores are selling and look great.

Make this DIY Joy Pallet Sign from Re-Fabbed for a nice touch for your porch, near your mailbox of just anywhere in your yard. This would also make an amazing handmade gift.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
