12 DIY Light Fixtures and Lamps- These homemade light fixtures and lamps will add a special touch to any room. They are both functional and decorative!

It’s always been a bummer to me that I have always lived in rentals. This often leaves me with very generic options when it comes to light fixtures. A fun light fixture can not only be functional but really pull a room’s look together and in some cases, give the room a beautiful centerpiece. Light fixtures don’t have to come from the store and some of them are super easy to create without any special skills or an electrician’s knowledge. If you are hoping to add that special something to a room and prefer to do it yourself, here are 12 DIY Light Fixtures and Lamps that are fun, funky and functional.

Carftbits has an awesome idea with this DIY Terrarium Lamp. I absolutely love this idea of mixing green elements like this!

I am a fan of all things seaside and this DIY Pottery Barn Knock-Off Rope Knot Table Lamp from Down Home Inspiration is a much better price, too!

The Gathered Home has a great tutorial on how to create a Plumbing Pipe Light Fixture that looks sleek and interesting.

Check out this DIY Farmhouse Vanity Light Fixture on Liz Marie Blog. I like the bold and simple look of it.

Shelterness has a DIY light fixture that is truly ingenious. They made a pendant lamp with a vintage looking enameled colander.

This Giant Macrame Rope Light from Vintage Revivals is really neat! I can imagine this looking great in a lot of spaces.

Hysterically Ever After shows you how to upgrade the typical round lighting fixture with a Lamp Shade Upgrade. This one would work great for my space!

DIY Joy has a really cool idea on using an old Liquor Bottle for Lighting Fixtures. Wouldn’t this look cool in a man cave or patio?

Pendant Lights are pretty popular and they can range in price from expensive to less expensive, but here is a Pendant Light DIY from Two Feet First so you can make your own.

If you have read my other roundups, you will know I am really into farmhouse style. This Laundry Room Farmhouse Light from The Wood Grain Cottage is made with chicken wire and I think it’s simply amazing.

For some more country charm, why not make this Mason Jar Chandelier by Charming Imperfections?

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
