Cash in on big discounts that stores offer by shopping after the holidays. Here are 15 Things You Should Buy After Christmas in order to save money.
Everyone thinks that buying during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales is the best time to buy Christmas items. However, the few days after Christmas is the time when you can get some of the best deals. This is when the stores mark down Christmas items by 50-70%. Here are 15 Things You Should Buy After Christmas, not before!
15 Things You Should Buy After Christmas
- Storage Boxes: Did you know those green and red storage boxes are considered Christmas items? This means you can get those huge storage boxes that are normally $10-$15 for $4.
- Christmas Ornaments: Retail stores stock up on Christmas ornaments before Christmas, but when Christmas is over they have to get them out of their inventory. After Christmas is the cheapest time to buy your ornaments.
- Gift Sets: Gift sets aren’t just great as Christmas gifts, but all those sets that come in during the Christmas season have to go. You can score gift sets of lotions, sprays, and shower essentials for as little as a couple bucks. You can use these gift sets for birthdays, special occasions, or save them for next year’s Christmas list.
- Christmas Dresses: Little girl Christmas dresses are so fancy and pretty, and expensive. Wait until the day after Christmas to get your little girl’s Christmas dress for the following year.
- Wrapping Paper: Stock up on that Christmas wrapping paper. You can always store it away until next year in those inexpensive storage boxes.
- Kitchen Items: If you find sets of dishes, pots, pans, or glasses that have a little Christmas cheer on them, you can get them at unbeatable prices. Of course, you can keep them up for Christmas or use them all year long.
- Winter Merchandise: Retailers are getting rid of inventory to start stocking up on spring clothes. Get in there and get those boots you wanted, sweaters, jackets, coats, and other winter merchandise. Right after Christmas sales are huge for these items and the best time to buy them. They haven’t all sold out, but they are way cheaper than when they first came out.
- Electronics: You may want to wait until January to head out for electronic sales. Every year in January, the International Consumer Electronics show releases the latest technology and gadgets. During this time, you can score “last year” items at killer prices as retailers try to get rid of the old and bring in the new.
- Christmas Trees: If your Christmas tree was on its last leg this year, don’t wait until next year to buy one. Christmas trees will go down astronomically the day after Christmas, and they will continue to drop until inventory is gone. Take advantage of after-Christmas deals on trees.
- Kids Books: All the books with little Christmas themes will be getting put on clearance. Books never go out of style and are crucial to your child’s development. Stock up on Christmas books because after Christmas is the cheapest you will find books all year long!
- Holiday Food: Food demands change throughout the year, and as they do, you will see the prices changing as well. After Christmas, however, the price of ham, turkey, yams, eggnog, and other Christmas food favorites will drastically drop in price. So, stock up your cupboards and pantry’s with non-perishable Christmas foods.
- Tape: Tape comes in huge bundles around Christmas time for wrapping all those Christmas gifts. However, right after Christmas, those bundles get clearance out which means you could have tape for the whole year.
- Holiday Cards: Do you find getting holiday cards at Christmas time is too expensive? Get your holiday cards out of the way and score great prices the day after Christmas.
- Movies: Stock up on your Christmas collection of movies. After Christmas is the perfect time to get all those classics you’ve been wanting at great prices.
- Stocking Stuffers: Get your stocking stuffers for the next year when they go on clearance. Who wants to pay $5 for something you can get for 50 cents after Christmas?
