3 Things to Do Every Night to Wake Up Happy, including simple ways to feel refreshed in the morning and how to simplify your morning routine.

There’s nothing that sets the mood more for the next morning more than what you did the night before. If you fell asleep stressed with a thousand things going through your head, you are very likely to wake up the same way with a thousand things to do or not get very restful sleep to begin with. One thing that is always recommended, is to do everything you can the night before so that you wake up refreshed and ready to focus on the day that lies ahead of you. If you are ready to wake up with a better mood each morning, here are 3 things to do every night to wake up happy.

3 Things to Do Every Night To Wake Up Happy

Do the dishes and put them away.

One thing you can do to wake up stress-free is to make sure that the kitchen is clean and the dishes are put away. It is so much easier to enjoy your morning when all you have to do is grab breakfast and coffee rather than cleaning a kitchen just to make it dirty again. Waking up without having to do extra work is the perfect way to wake up happy.

Create a worry free to-do list

We tend to bring a lot of worry and stress into our morning by rushing to accomplish all of the things that were running around in our head while we lay in bed. One helpful thing to do is to write down only the important things that need to be accomplished the next day. Breaking down small tasks that can be used to accomplish the bigger goal is a great way to wake up knowing what to do, and and giving you the confidence to get things done. You won’t worry that you are forgetting something, and you will zip through your tasks much quicker if you can mark them off as you go. You can either physically write a list or use one of the many great free apps with reminders and to-do lists out there.

Pick out anything you will need for the next day

Another easy thing that you can do the night before to wake up happy is to pick out as much as you can before you go to bed. Pick out your clothes you will be wearing, prepare lunches the night before, put out shoes by the door, and have the coffee timer ready to go off. Leave backpacks, purses, or briefcases by the door to ensure that nothing is forgotten so your mornings are less rushed, and you can take your time to soak it all in and just enjoy.

These are simple things you can do to wake up refreshed and with a clean slate of what lies ahead of you.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
