7 Easy Ways To Save On Your Cell Phone Plan - These 7 tips will help you find a cell phone plan that suits your needs and fits your budget.

Every family has at least one cell phone, but these 7 easy ways to save on your cell phone plan are sure to keep you and your family within your budget without frustration. Being able to use the phone you all want and a plan that suits your needs can be done on a limited budget. It simply requires a bit of work and research to make happen for your family.

7 Easy Ways To Save On Your Cell Phone Plan

Compare prices to other carriers. Just because you have been with the same carrier since you were a teenager doesn’t mean that is the best financial choice for you today. Check the prices and promotions with all carriers in your area. Remember to look into all carriers and not just the three top companies. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T may be the most common, but don’t forget T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, and others.

Drop the contract and go with a prepaid option. Almost every carrier offers a prepaid plan, but you can also look into the plans through stores like Walmart, and the common prepaid brands of Net10 and TracFone for great deals. Often these use a certain amount per text, or minute of call and data usage. You can pay for these plans month to month, and can tailor your purchase to just what you need and use on a regular basis. If you rarely make phone calls, you can purchase a plan with more text and data and little to no minutes for calls. There’s no reason to pay for something you won’t actually use.

Change existing plans to suit your needs. Like mentioned before, you shouldn’t be paying for something you do not use. If you are not making a lot of actual phone calls, lower the amount of minutes on your plan. Monitor and adjust as needed. Increase data if needed, or purchase the unlimited texting plan instead.

Stop buying upgraded phones. One huge expense is in buying your phones. If you continue to upgrade every few years you will not only be out the money for the phone, but likely tied into another 2-3 years contract with your carrier. This can be prevented by either waiting longer to buy new phones, or simply buying the new phone outright and not buying into a contract promotion.

Use wi-fi and Skype for phone calls. Instead of buying extra minutes for phone calls, use your at home Internet service and wi-fi with a Skype or similar app to make phone calls. These apps aren’t just for video chatting, they are a great choice for making phone calls as well.

Take kids phones away at night. If you are paying for your kids cellular phones, you may want to monitor or limit their use to keep bills lower. Taking kids phones away at bedtime ensures they aren’t staying up all night online or texting. If you have limited plans, this may be a necessity to stay within your budget and purchased plan.

Join a family plan. If you are a single individual, you may be able to join a family plan with a friend or family member for a lower contract rate. Sprint offers this service where everyone gets their own billing statement, but there are other options available if you are able to locate someone willing to include you in their plan.

There are many easy ways to save on cellular service, but these are the best in our book. By making minor adjustments in how you use your cell phone and data plans you can save a bundle each month.

These are some really great ways to save on a cell phone bill. I like that there are ways to set limits on kids phones. Many parents don’t know that feature and some kids games eat up data. It has helped me on my own line.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
