7 Fall Cleaning Tips That Save Time - Here are 7 time-saving fall cleaning tips to help you clean and get rid of clutter before winter hits.

Here are 7 Fall Cleaning Tips That Save Time that will work great year round. By focusing on specific tasks, you can make your fall cleanup much easier, and set yourself up for easy maintenance cleaning the rest of the season. Fall is a great time to purge, clean and make your home clutter free.

7 Fall Cleaning Tips That Save Time

Start from the top and work your way down. This applies not only to multi-level homes, but also to the rooms themselves. Start at the top and work your way down in your home so you aren’t back tracking. Depending on whether you plan to include changing out seasonal wardrobes and décor or not, you can start as high as your attic. In individual rooms, start by wiping down walls and ceiling fans from the top to bottom. That way when you dust counters and vacuum floors you will already have all the dust and dirt on the ground.

Use old socks on broom handles to dust. Old socks are perfect dust rags for hard to reach places. Slip over a broom handle or your old Swiffer Sweeper. Spritz with your multi-purpose cleaner and wipe down your walls, ceiling fans and even high cabinets.

Purge as you clean. Rid yourself of clutter, broken items, toys, and unneeded clothing while you are cleaning. If you take a bag for donations and one for trash from room to room you will make this process even easier to accomplish.

Clean your chimney or fireplace before winter hits. This will save you both time and money later on, so is a must in your fall cleaning tips that save time. Call a chimney sweep and have your fireplace checked out ahead of time. Having it cleaned can keep you and your family safe, and keep you from going without heat when needed later in the year.

Assign chores or rooms to each family member. The most efficient way to do a good deep clean in the fall is to work together with your entire family. Assign chores, rooms and specific tasks to each family member and work together to make short work of your fall cleaning list.

Set a timer so you stay on track. You can easily get sidetracked while cleaning. Set a timer for every 30 minutes or hour to stop and make sure you are focused and doing what you have on your list for cleaning. Follow your list and create a time line that is functional for you to complete.

Use all purpose cleaners to save time and money. One of the hardest parts of cleaning is going back and forth to find the right cleaning agent. Use a safe multi-purpose cleaner on all counters and walls for more efficient cleaning. Some wood and glass surfaces need a special cleaner, so double check before use.

These fall cleaning tips that save time are perfect for making sure you have everything done in a timely fashion. Cleaning up your home in time for the holidays and winter is a great way to be more efficient.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
