Getting your table spruced up for the holidays can be easy when you try these Holiday Table Decor Ideas. 7 simple ways to make your Holiday table shine!

 7 Holiday Table Decor Ideas

With the holidays approaching, you might be wondering how to dress your dinner table for less. Making your table shine can be easy when you give these 7 ways to spruce up your holiday table a try. When you follow these tips, you can create a tablescape that is charming, festive, and welcoming to your guests. Here is how you can get started.

1. Choose a warm color palette.
Instead of having a hodgepodge of colors on your table, stick to a color palette of 3-4 colors. Choose warmer colors such as browns, golds, deep reds, deep greens, and even dark orange. These colors feel cozy and welcoming, and really pop when placed together.

2. Use a variety of linens.
Once you choose your color palette, tie it into your linens. Use a variety of linens to create texture. Layering a tablecloth, then placemats, then napkins are a great way to do this. Linens are a soft, textured way to add a fancy element to your table.

3. Try creative napkin and utensil arrangements.
Don’t resort to the traditional napkin and utensil set up. Instead, try wrapping them all together and finishing with a festive napkin ring. Or, try folding the napkin into a fun shape and layering the silverware around it. Forget the rules and instead try some unique arrangements.

4. Use an interesting centerpiece.
A centerpiece is a great focal point for your table. Use a piece with a variety of colors and elements to it. A vase of assorted holiday blooms looks great, as does a basket filled with foliage or gourds. You can even sprinkle votive candles around your centerpiece to really make it glow.

5. Add some light.
You can run a strand of twinkle lights across the table or use votives and tapers to add some warmth and glow. Cluster some tapers in the center of the table, or add a votive to each place setting. You can even place votives on small mirrors to really make them pop.

6. Add fresh elements.
Use nature to bring the outside in. Vases full of twigs, fall leaves, or pine branches are a great way to add some color and texture to your table for less.

7. Use place cards.
Adding place cards with the names of your guests is a great way to make them feel welcome. You can make your own on card stock, or even write their name with marker on a fall leaf.

The holidays are coming, so get your dinner table ready. Getting your table spruced up or the holidays can be easy when you give these tips a try!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
