7 Ways to Save Money on Shoes- Buying shoes does not have to be expensive.Try these 7 Ways to Save Money on Shoes so you don't have to compromise on style or your budget.
Shoes are a fun way to express our personality and add some style to our wardrobe. But what if our tastes outweigh our budget? Take a look below at 7 ways to save money on shoes. You can still get the styles you crave while keeping some cash in your wallet at the same time. These tips work great whether you are buying adult shoes, kid’s shoes, work, or even play shoes. Take a look!

7 Ways to Save Money on Shoes

1. Buy shoes in the off season.
If you know you need a great pair of boots, buy them before the snow falls. Look for styles on sale at the end of the previous season or during the warmer months. Chances are you will still find a great selection while saving money at the same time. Now that cooler months are here, you can find great prices on sandals and open toe shoes since the demand is lower.

2. Repair before you buy new.
Find a local shoe repair for tears, sole repair, and more. This will help you save since the cost of a repair typically costs less than buying a whole new pair of shoes. Be a loyal customer to the repairman and chances are you will save even more.

3. Use those coupons/coupon codes.
Before you buy those shoes, check sites such as retailmenot.com for possible coupon codes. You can also check the Sunday paper for coupons to shoe stores such as Payless, Shoe Carnival, and even Target.

4. Buy two pairs and save.
Many stores offer deals such as Buy One, Get One Half off. Keep your eyes peeled for these sales when you need multiple pairs of shoes. Kmart, Payless, and Shoe Carnival run this sale often, and it is a great way to snag multiple pairs without going broke.

5. Ask for the floor model.
If you want a pair of shoes that isn’t in stock, and the floor model fits, you may be able to get it for less. Floor models typically sell at a discount since they have been handled. See if you can snag this pair for 10-20% off.

6. Check out high end consignment shops.
These types of consignment shops are a great way to get gently worn name brand shoes for less. Women’s consignment shops as well as children’s both carry gently worn shoes at a fraction of the cost of buying new. Plus, they pride themselves on boutique styles and name brands.

7. Look for knock offs.
You may love the look of high end shoes, but can’t afford them. Pin the styles you love on Pinterest, and then use the pictures to find close knock offs. Chances are you can find similar styles at stores such as Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx for less.

Give these 7 tips for saving money on shoes a try and get your shoe fix for less!

One of my biggest money-wasters with shoes is buying styles which I think are comfortable, then finding they’re really not. I confess, when I find a style I like which is blissful to wear, I’ve started to invest in another pair right away. I’m hoping it saves money in the long term…

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
