You can’t find a simpler way to spruce up your home than with these Decorative Fall Plates. You will love how easy they are to make with autumn-themed window clings.

These DIY Decorative Fall Plates are a simple way to decorate your home or dinner table. You will love how easy they are to make with fall window clings.

Add a touch of pumpkins, acorns, and color changing leaves to your table this fall with these simple peel and stick Decorative Fall Plates. Whether you’re in a pinch to dress up your dinner table or just looking for decorations on a dime, these festive fall plates are a the way to go. Simply grab a sheet or two of those static cling window decorations you see in stores and a few small dinner plates, and you can can create inexpensive yet delightfully festive decor for your home this fall.

These plates would also make a wonderful addition to your table this Thanksgiving as well! Grab your materials and let’s get started.

Decorative Fall Plates Tutorial

Materials Needed:
  • white plates (I used 6″ plates)
  • static cling autumn window decorations
  • rubbing alcohol
  • pan scraper, optional
  • blow dryer or heat gun, optional

Choose window clings with a clear background. A clear background will look best and not clash with the color of your plates.

Directions:

1. Wash and dry plates. Wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any additional oils and residue.

2. Peel off your static cling decorations and place them onto your plate.

3. Using your finger, smooth the decoration from the center outwards, removing any air bubbles. Take your time to remove everything and create a nice clean look. You can use a pan scraper if you have one to gently smooth the window cling onto the plate. Decorative Fall Plates- apply window cling
4. Repeat until you have the desired number of plates.
Decorative Fall Plates- completed
You can display these Decorative Fall Plates with a simple plate stand or set them out on a table with other fall decorations. I wouldn’t recommend eating off these plates as the window clings are not intended for food and I’m not certain they are food safe.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
