how to host an awesome dry bachelorette party

Bachelorette and bachelor parties are notorious for getting a little wild and crazy and this is under the pretense that there has to be alcohol involved in order for it to be a “real” party. Many brides-to-be forgo this part of the party due to many reasons and it doesn’t mean your party will not be a wonderful time. Looking for some tips to turn your dry bachelorette party into one to remember? Here are some tips for hosting a dry bachelorette party!

How to Host an Awesome (Dry) Bachelorette Party

Do “mocktails”. This is just a mixed drink without any alcohol. It can still pump up the party atmosphere without the alcohol. Even just making some awesome mock margaritas with frozen fruits or adding in some sparkling cider can really give off a fun vibe. Make sure to serve it with garnishes and in fancy glasses!

Do a spa party. Invite everyone to bring something to pamper everyone with. Paint nails, do facials and relax. This is also a perfect time to get everyone to help you create a look for your wedding day. After you get all pampered up, head somewhere for a nice relaxing meal.

Do a fondue party at home. You can get a fondue pot for less than $25. You could do a selection of fruits to dip in chocolate or do a cheese one with breads, apples, and different types of dry cured meat. Set the tone by doing it in low light and just do girl talk.

Make your party a theme. What is something that your wedding party gals or bride-to-be would like the most? Pick a theme that is especially important to them. Did a favorite movie once bring you all together? How about a themed party from when you were in high school? Get creative and include food, decorations and come dressed for the theme.

If your budget allows for it, rent a hotel room for the night and make sure it is one with some luxuries such as a pool or sauna. For fun, rent the best room they have if you can squeeze it into your budget. Spend time relaxing and order in pizza. Take a dip in the pool and just have fun with each others company.

Take a day trip with your girls. Even if it is just to a park a couple miles away. Just getting out of town will be a blast for all invited. Have a picnic under the stars!

Get a little childish! How about a trip to the local zoo or aquarium? Who says a bachelorette party has to be some stuffy event held in a room? Get out for a fun day with the girls at some of the funnest kid-friendly places and bring out your inner child.

Go out for a night of fun and book tickets for a concert, a movie or a play. Plan to go out for a fun night with the whole deal; dinner, event and after-party. The after-party can be as simple as coming home and making some comfort foods and drinking tea.

No matter what you plan to to, make sure you remember that the most memorable times happen when you just connect with people. Don’t worry so much about where you went and what you did, but rather what kind of memories you created.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
