How to Save Money at Hobby Lobby - Are you looking for ways to save on crafts projects. Here are 5 ways to save money on craft supplies at Hobby Lobby.

If you are an avid crafter, you might be wondering how to save a little money on your addiction! Crafting can in fact be an addiction, causing you to wonder the craft store aisles for hours. Instead of spending big bucks on those supply trips, give these buying tips a try instead. Below, you will find 5 ways to save money at Hobby Lobby craft stores. You can still get the supplies you need for less…way less. Take a look to see how!

How to Save Money at Hobby Lobby

1. Find mobile savings.
You can visit the Hobby Lobby website on your mobile phone to pull up in store savings. Visit the Hobby Lobby App on your phone to instantly pull up a coupon for 40% off any one regular priced item. You can also print this coupon out from your home computer if you wish. It is a great way to score savings on a large item or any item that is not already marked down.

2. Save your receipt.
Sales at Hobby Lobby change weekly. Sales run from Monday to Saturday and then start new the next Monday. Always save your receipt, because if an item goes on sale within two weeks of you buying it, you can get the difference back. You typically don’t even need to take the item in, just the receipt to show your purchase.

3. Don’t buy licensed items.
You may be tempted to buy licensed items such as Disney, Pixar, and collegiate items. These typically have a much higher mark up and are rarely marked down or on sale. Yes, you can use your 40% off coupon, but you will usually still end up paying more than you would at other retail stores. Avoid buying these licensed items when looking at fabric, décor items, ribbon, and even holiday décor it may be on. You will almost always pay more.

4. Head to the back.
Hobby Lobby has a generous clearance section near the back of the store. This typically consists of two walls of savings. Items may be opened, slightly damaged, or just overstock, but you can still save more than half off. Always skim this section to see what you may be able to find. Most items are marked with a bright yellow sticker, and some items may be marked down more than once. So be sure to look. You may be surprised with a fun and inexpensive find!

5. Follow these fabric cutting tips.
And last but not least, be mindful when you get fabric cut. If you are buying fabric that is NOT on sale, make sure you have it cut in one segment so you can use the 40% off coupon. For example if you are doing a project where you need 3 separate yards, have them keep the 3 yards together as one piece. This way, you can use the coupon as it is considered one item. If you have them cut apart, you won’t be able to use the coupon on more than one. Also, ask where any available remnants may be. Some stores have a remnant section where you can snag end of the roll pieces for way below retail.

When you give these tips a try, you are sure to save on your next Hobby Lobby purchase! Happy crafting!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
