Tricks for Keeping Pet Hair Off Furniture - Whether you have allergies or just want to keep your furniture looking nice, these tips are for you!

These Tricks for Keeping Pet Hair Off Furniture are going to make your life so much easier. While you can’t have indoor pets without having some fur and hair floating around, you can minimize it. There are so many things you can do to help keep the amount of hair down to a minimum. These tips will help you to stop stressing every time you sit down about standing up with a pet hair covered back or bottom.

Tricks for Keeping Pet Hair Off Furniture

Groom your pets regularly. This is truly the most important thing you can do for keeping pet hair off furniture. Cats and dogs both shed a tremendous amount of hair. Brushing your pets hair or trimming it on a regular basis can make a huge difference. In Spring and Summer pets shed much more hair than during cooler months. You may need to add this to your daily to-do list to keep the pet hair to a minimum. While cats do groom themselves, they still need a good brushing on a regular basis to get those loose hairs off that often fall onto your furniture.

Use a damp cloth for easy removal. For a quick method of getting bet hair off your furniture, use a damp cloth or paper towel. Instead of pulling the vacuum out for every stray hair, this method picks it up quickly and easily. Plus if you use a drop or two of essential oils on the cloth, it will freshen the furniture and room in the process.

Buy different furniture. This may sound crazy, but if pets are going to be a long term commitment in your home, then you may want to consider buying different furniture. Leather, suede, and fake leather covered furniture do not let hair cling as badly as other cloth furniture will. Pets will still shed, but it is much easier to remove the hair from these surfaces.

Train pets to stay off furniture. This is one method that many struggle with, but you can train your pets to stay off furniture. Many animals never get on furniture because they are shown not to at an early age. If it is truly important to keep your furniture hair free, this may be your best choice.

Use slip covers. There are the classic vinyl slip covers you think of from the 1970’s, and they work wonderfully to keep the pet hair off you furniture. However, they are far from comfortable to sit on. Instead, you can invest in some fabric slip covers to put over chairs and couches that can easily be pulled off and washed. If your concern is more about preserving the appearance of your furniture than keeping the hair off your seat this is a perfect solution.

These tricks to keeping pet hair off furniture are just a few simple solutions for the average pet owner. If pet hair is a real problem you may look into adopting a short hair breed or even keeping animals out of certain rooms in your home.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
