My friend, Rebecca at Turned Loose, has been running a series called Intentional Summer. If you have not visited yet, you will want to do so. In this 15 part series, Rebecca reviews “an idea, method, or motivation toward making your time off from school intentionally valuable”. She warns that “the 80 days of summer will disappear before our very eyes unless we take steps to make it count”.
Making the most of summer is a big priority for me this summer. Next year, my oldest will be a senior in college and my second child will be a senior in high school. This will probably be the last summer that all of us will be able to hang out together. Even this summer is in danger since my oldest is taking summer classes and working in a lab. This year, I am making plans to make the most of the time I do have with all of my children home.
Have you started planning your summer? Do you just plan the big things like camp or vacation, or do you try to plan in little bits of fun in each week? If you are in need of ideas, I encourage you to visit Turned Loose.

I like this! Our summer break starts this weekend…am planning to ask the boys for ideas on how they want to spend our free time and make it an Intentional Summer as well.
