While many of us view Math as a 4 letter word, math is an amazing tool that unlocks the world around us. With the right curriculum, math concepts can become easier to understand and maybe even an enjoyable subject. Don’t laugh! When I switched my youngest son to The Life of Fred Math Books he started begging me to let him do more math.
I have used the same History and Grammar curriculum with all of my kids but I have used a different math curriculum with each of my children. It would be nice if there was a one math curriculum that fits all kids learning styles, but I just haven’t found that curriculum for my kids. Each of my kids now excels at math, but finding a math curriculum that matched their learning style was the key to their math success. While this can be frustrating since we get used to passing down so much of our curriculum, it is important to remember that one of the benefits of homeschooling is being able to design a study plan for our each of our child’s unique gifts and challenges.
