Supplies needed:

  • Red, white, or pink ear muffs (We found ours for $3 at Michael’s Craft store. They had several colors to pick from!)
  • Red, white, or pink felt
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue, glue gun

Directions:
1. Begin by cutting a large heart out of your base felt. This will be the first piece attached to your ear muff so make sure it is an alternative color. You don’t want it to blend in and get lost. TIP: To create a nice and even heart, fold the felt in half and cut one side of your heart. Unfold it and see how even it now is! You can also use this piece now as a stencil for the next step.

2. Cut out a second heart in the same color, and same size. Use your first heart as a stencil as mentioned above.

3. Now, cut out two more hearts. They should be in an alternate color of felt, and made slightly smaller.

4. Apply some hot glue to the back of your larger hearts and press them to the sides of the ear muffs. Hold them in place until secure.

5. Layer on the second, smaller heart. Just apply glue and press to the previously attached heart.

How to Make Valentine's Day Ear Muffs for Kids

How gorgeous are these? Once your felt is glued on and dry, your ear muffs can be enjoyed. They are sure to add some Valentine’s Day fun to your outfit, while keeping your ears cozy at the same time.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
