Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts Recipe

These Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts are so elegant, yet really easy to make. You only need a couple of ingredients and heart shaped molds. They also come together in a short amount of time. The longest part of the process is allowing the melted chocolate to harden in the molds. That takes about an hour.

This recipe is very flexible. It calls for cherry flavoring, but you can replace it with your favorite flavor. You can stick with just white chocolate if you wish. If you do decide to also make red chocolate hearts, I recommend that you buy red chocolate, instead of trying to make it by adding food dye. The food dye can react with the melted white chocolate in unpredictable ways and ruin it.

Items needed to make Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts

Ingredients and Items Needed:

  • White Candy Melts
  • Red Candy Melts
  • Cherry Flavoring Oil
  • Silicone Mini Heart  Mold
  • Red Sugar Sprinkles

I have provided links to the items on Amazon, but you should also be able to pick the items up at your local craft store.

How to Make the Cherry-Flavored White Chocolate Hearts:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt White Candy Melts according to package directions. Add 2-3 drops of cherry flavor to taste, and mix well. Fill silicone mold with melted chocolate. You can repeat the process with red chocolates. Just make sure you reserve an ounce or two of each color to drizzle over the top of the hearts.

Pour melted chocolate into molds to make Chocolate Hearts

Tap the mold a few times to settle the chocolate and remove any uneven parts.

Allow to harden for at least one hour, then remove hardened candy from the mold and set on wax paper.

add melted chocolate or colored sprinkles to the top of the candy hearts

Melt a small amount of Red Candy Melts according to package directions and drizzle onto some of the chocolate hearts. Add a pinch of sugar sprinkles to others. Let harden completely and store at room temperature.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
