Flower Pot Saucer Owl Craft for Kids Tutorial
Materials Needed:
- terra cotta flower pot saucer
- orange, tan, brown, white, and black crafting felt
- scissors
- hot glue, glue gun
- brown pipe cleaners
Directions:
1. Begin by cutting out the face of the owl. You will do an elongated heart shape as shown in your choice of color, and create a second copy of the shape on a smaller scale in the second color.
2. Create eyes by cutting out two large white circles, and fill in with two smaller black circles for pupils.
3. Snip out a triangle from the orange fabric, perfect for your beak.
4. Your wings can be made by cutting out large ovals and layering the inside with a small oval in a different color. Add detail by running a fringed piece of felt along the side of each wing.
5. Assemble the pieces of felt to the saucer as shown. A dab of hot glue on each will help get the job done fast. (Parents should do this part.)
6. Create the legs of your owl using brown pipe cleaners. Snip off two pieces and tie another small piece of pipe cleaner at the end to create toes. Glue the legs to the back of the saucer.
7. Your flower pot saucer owl is now ready to be displayed.

Cute idea. I wonder if there is a way to paint on the wings and use it as a coaster? Thanks for sharing your idea on Merry Monday.
