If your house is anything like mine, you have a glitter-making session at least once a week. We figured out how to make glitter slime for Valentine’s Day and it was a hit, we love sparkle and slime so putting them together just made sense and we love how it turned out.

How to Make Glitter Slime for Valentine’s Day

We made this slime with glue and contact solution, not glitter glue because we wanted didn’t want to have to add coloring to get lovely colored Valentine’s Day slime. We find that slime made with saline contact solution is wonderfully smooth and pliable.

After making the slime, we divided it into 4 different bowls and used 4 different colors of glitter: light pink, hot pink, purple, and red. We added a lot of glitter to each bowl because we aren’t using paint or food coloring in this glitter slime recipe, so we wanted a lot of color to come from the glitter. When you see the end results, you may be surprised that to find that it is only the glitter that provides the color for this slime.

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 cup white school glue
  • 1 Tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 Tablespoon saline contact solution
  • glitter, we used 4 colors
  • small glass bowls for each color
  • optional- a plastic jar or container to store or use to gift the slime.

Directions:

  1. Combine school glue and baking soda in a large bowl to mix well.glitter slime diy mix
  2. Stir in saline contact solution, you will almost immediately notice that the mixture begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl, continue stirring until the contact solution thoroughly mixed throughout. If it is still too sticky to hold add more solution a 1/2 tsp. at a time, stirring well between each addition, you don’t want to add too much because the slime will lose its elasticity and become too tough.how to make glitter slime with saline solution
  3. Once the texture is right, divide slime into bowls, you will need one for each color of glitter you are going to use. We did 4 in various shades of pink, purple, and red for a Valentine’s Day theme.glitter for glitter slime
  4. Add glitter, we added a lot because we aren’t using paint or food coloring we wanted a lot of color from the glitter, mix it well, kneading and pulling with your hands to get it worked in well.mixing up glitter slime
