Olympic Rings Sun Catcher Craft

Materials:

  • Modge Podge
  • sponge paintbrush
  • wax paper
  • clear tape
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • blue, black, red, yellow, and green tissue paper (I could not find black tissue paper local so I used black crepe paper)
  • glue stick
  • 2 round containers to trace 1 large circle and 1 small circle (I used a coffee container lid and an empty k-cup, as shown)

Olympic Rings Sun Catcher - SuppliesDirections:

1. Tear off a large piece of wax paper. Use the pencil to trace 5 larger circles. After the larger circles are drawn, use the pencil to trace a smaller circle in the middle (see photo).Olympic Rings Sun Catcher - tracing circles

2. Cut out all 5 rings.

3. Use the scissors to cut the tissue paper into small squares.

4. Glue the tissue paper onto each ring, using one color per ring. Repeat with all the rings and tissue paper as shown below.

5. Once all the rings have tissue paper on them use the paint sponge to coat the circles with Modge Podge.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
