10 Delicious Acai Bowl Recipes including chocolate acai bowl recipes, vegan acai bowl recipes and even gluten free acai bowl recipes for a quick breakfast.

I am big on superfoods and try to get them whenever I can into my diet. One of the biggest superfoods to be talked about in the recent years is the acai berry. (In case you are wondering, “Acai” is pronounced ah-sah-EE). The berry is from a type of palm tree that grows in South America. The reason it is a superfood is because of the amounts of antioxidants in it are mind blowing. Antioxidants help the body regenerate cells and it is thought that they can be preventative against cancers.

Where to Buy Acai Berries

I suggest buying the berry in smoothie packs or in frozen puree as the berries themselves can be extremely expensive to buy on their own, fresh. You can also buy powder, but for acai bowls, pulp and smoothie packs are best since a bowl is basically an awesome thicker smoothies with great toppings. You want it to be rich.

You can find these at places such as Whole Foods. Here are 10 delicious acai bowl recipes

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
