10 Delicious Lime Recipes including lime dressing, a lime chicken recipe, lime rice, lime cilantro butter, lime drinks recipes and how to freeze limes.

Limes are currently in season and this means that you will probably find some awesome deals on them. I have seen them as low as 20 cents each here, but I live in the Pacific Northwest so that is a great price for us. When fruit and vegetables go on season, I like to stock up so I can make sure I am getting the best price of the year on them.

Along with stocking up for good price’s sake, I find that I am left with lost of extra most of the time. You can freeze whole limes, but it is better to freeze just the rinds and juice. They do last rather long if stored properly in the fridge and whatever you have left can be used for these 10 delicious lime recipes.

To store limes so they last as long as possible without freezing, keep them in a mesh bag in the crisper drawer of your fridge. If you use limes a lot in recipes, you can squeeze the juice and store it in ice cube trays in the freezer. Alternatively, you can freeze the juice and keep the zest in it as well in ice cube trays.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
