Apple Pie Caramel Apple - A Gourmet Caramel Apple Recipe. A delicious variation on traditional caramel apples with white chocolate and apple pie spice.

Apple pie and caramel apples are two of the most delicious and sought after flavors of fall, putting them together just had to be a great idea, And it really is.  Fresh, crunchy apples coated in caramel and then apple pie spice laced white chocolate and finished off with a graham cracker “crust”.  These are fun to make with the kids, fun to pass out to deserving neighbors, or teachers, but even more fun and tasty to eat!  Make this batch of 6 or double or triple the recipe to share!

 Apple Pie Caramel Apple Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 apples- Red Delicious
  • 1 bag Kraft caramels
  • 1-10-12 oz. bag white chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp. Apple Pie Spice (How to make Apple Pie Spice)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. granulated sugar-mixed
  • 1/2 pack graham crackers
  • wooden skewers

Directions:

Crush graham crackers in a zippered bag by tapping firmly with a spoon or put them in a food processor, set aside.

Scrub apples well under water, then dry completely with a clean, dry towel.- This removes all the wax and residue from your apples and will make your toppings adhere better.

Melt unwrapped caramels in pan over medium high heat, stirring constantly until completely melted. Or you can heat in microwave safe dish in 30 second increments, stirring each time.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
