Monday – Grilled Chicken, Rice with Garden Vegetables, and Italian Squash Salad

Tuesday – Use 1/2 pound of leftover chicken to make Pasta Salad and TBD

Wednesday – Use 1/2 pound of leftover chicken and leftover rice to make Chicken and Rice Soup, and Garden Salad

Thursday– Black and White Turkey Chili*, GF Corn Bread, and Squash Julienne

Friday– YOYO Dinner

Saturday– Grilled Steak, Grilled Squash, Butter Tossed Green Beans, and Roasted Potatoes

Sunday– Choucroute a l’ Alsacienne* and Garden Salad

If you are new to my blog:

YOYO means You are On Your Own.

GF means mama passed on a gluten intolerance along with the blond hair.

TBD means To Be Determined or mama doesn’t have a clue.

* means I am very excited to try a new recipe and I am so sure it is going to be good I am passing along the link in advance.

What meals are you looking forward to cooking this week? Do you plan your meals in advance or do you prefer to do spontaneous meal planning at 5:00 each evening? Or have you decided that it is too hot to cook and closed your kitchen for the summer? If you fall into the last category, The Happy Housewife latest post includes recipes that allow you to turn off the oven and still feed your family.

This post has been linked to Menu Plan Monday.

Everything looks so good. I am all about turning off my oven in the summer time. This summer we include grilled pizza every week. Yummy!

What a great menu! My Mom loves Cchoucroute (she and my dad even call it that sometimes), so I'm going to pass that recipe along to her. Thanks for linking to it :o)

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
