Flowering Tea

I love Numi’s flowering tea gift set and have given this to a couple of the tea drinkers in my life. Of course, I also bought one for my daughter and I to enjoy! It comes packaged in a nice bamboo box.

Inside the bamboo box is a glass tea pot and a box of hand sewn flowering tea blossoms.

Above is a flowering tea blossom before adding hot water, and below is a tea blossom after it has steeped for 3 minutes:

We enjoy watching the tea blossom unfold. We tease that we are going to create our own lily pond, by filling a tub full of water and letting a box of flowering teas bloom. The thought of scrubbing the tub afterwards stops us!

There are nine different flavors. I steeped Starlight’s Rose, which has a light, sweet flavor. You can re-steep each tea blossom 2 -3 times.

I didn't do tea for years. I learned to love tea alone, or with goodies and friends, when I lived in Virginia. Now I try to make converts where ever I go.

Tea is not something I "do." I should! It sounds so peaceful.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
