Peanut Butter Bark Recipe

It has been almost a month since I’ve shared a candy recipe. I really hope you appreciate my self control!  However, Valentine’s Day is coming up and my sweetheart’s favorite candy is peanut butter bark. This is an easy candy to make, but don’t tell my husband because I am going to pass it off as a labor of love. 😉

My husband and I rarely exchange big gifts on Valentine’s Day. One year I made an exception to the rule and bought him Morison’s History of the United States Naval Operations in World War II 15 Volume Set. Stupidest gift ever! I was neglected for months as he read through the books. I learned my lesson the hard way and will stick to candy this year.

Peanut Butter Bark RecipeSwirl the chocolate and peanut butter together with a spatula. An offset spatula helps spread it evenly, but is not necessary.

Looks so easy yet delicious! Can you use something else to replace the shortening? I never stock it and rather not purchase a container of it to make this one recipe.

What a great bark! You take 2 of my favorite flavors and swirl them all together, THEN you add peanuts! O.K. I know what I making myself for Valentine’s Day! 🙂

I LOVE chocolate and peanut butter. For years, the combination of the two was the only way I would eat peanut butter, though I will eat it plain now. This recipe looks easy and the pictures make it look like a tasty treat. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

PS….good luck on a better Valentine’s Day this year! 🙂

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
