Crock-Pot Rotisserie Chicken Recipe

Let your Crock-Pot do the work in this Slow Cooker Rotisserie Chicken Recipe that is perfect for weeknights or weekends.

Love the flavor of rotisserie chicken and wish you could make it at home? Well, you are in luck, because we are sharing how to get the delicious flavor of rotisserie chicken while cooking your chicken in a slow cooker.

I know you are going to ask, so let me say this now: The ingredient list is correct. You really do not need to add any liquid to your Crock-Pot. If you add liquid, you won’t get the nice crisp skin of rotisserie chicken. To keep the meat from sticking to the bottom of the pot, place a trivet in first and place the chicken on top of it. If you do not have a trivet, create four balls of aluminum foil on which to place the chicken. Brush the trivet or aluminum balls with oil for easier cleanup.

Slow Cooker Rotisserie Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (4 to 6 pound) whole chicken
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. Place a trivet into the slow cooker liner. If you do not have a trivet, create three to four balls of aluminum foil on which to place the chicken. Spritz with non-stick cooking spray for easier cleanup.
  2. Mix together the dry seasonings.
  3. Rinse chicken, removing any pieces inside the cavity, and pat dry. Baste chicken on all sides with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle all sides generously with seasoning blend. Place any remaining seasoning blend inside the cavity of the chicken.
  5. Put the chicken into the slow cooker liner with the cavity of the bird tilted towards the bottom of the crock. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.rotisserie chicken in the slow cooker
  6. Remove cover and test for doneness with an instant thermometer. The chicken should reach 165 degrees without touching the bone. Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker being mindful that it is tender enough to fall apart. slow cooker chicken final
  7. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
