2015 Reno/Sparks Christmas Tree Lighting Events- Start the Christmas season off with tree lighting events and holiday festivities in the Reno Sparks area.

Seems like lighting the Christmas tree makes the season official and we have a couple fun tree lighting events here in Reno and Sparks. Check them out this holiday season with your family!

2015 Reno/Sparks Christmas Tree Lighting Events

The Lights Up Tree Lighting at The Summit

Where: Center Plaza near Vans and Tilly’s, Reno
When: Saturday, November 21st from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Summit will start the holidays off with a free holiday concert and fireworks display. The Lights Up celebration will include the official lighting of The Summit’s holiday decorations and tree, a live concert by all-star group of JamPro Music Factory students, a grand fireworks show, giveaways, enter-to-win prize packages, and a special “First Gift of Christmas” presentation by Santa.

Keep an eye out for Archie who will be giving out free skate rentals for ice skating at the ice rink.   For more information and to learn more about holiday events taking place at The Summit, visit TheSummitOnline.com or call 775-853-7800.

Sparks Annual Hometowne Christmas Celebration

Two days of events will take place in Victorian Square, downtown Sparks.

Tree Lighting: Friday, December 4th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Gather ‘round the tree as Mayor Martini turns on the glorious lights. Event includes great entertainment and treats for the kids.

Christmas Parade:  Saturday, December 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Watch the traditional Christmas parade along with entertainment, photos with Santa, and arts and crafts. This year’s theme is All Aboard The Hometowne Express! Parade goers can expect whistle stops, box cars, train engineers, and Santa bringing up the caboose. Come down early and get hot chocolate. Check in on Santa at Santa’s Village at the Schoolhouse, while the elves at the Boys and Girls Club keep Santa in the “ho-ho-ho” mood.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
