10 Free Knit Patterns for Pets including knit cat toy patterns, free knit cat hoodie pattern, free knit dog toy patterns and free knit dog sweater pattern.

We all love our furry friends, and it’s always fun to make something just for them. Knitting for your pets can be fun and it is also a great way to use up scrap yarn since it is doubtful that your dog will care what color you made his toys. Included in this fun list of free knit patterns for pets is everything from scarves to sweaters and even toys. I hope you have a blast creating these fun free knit patterns for pets.

10 Free Knit Patterns for Pets

This pattern from Ravelry by Jacqueline Gibb for a Dog Snood Neck-Warmer is just so awesome. After I got over giggling at how awesome it was, I had to share it on this list.

Make these awesome Squeaker Dog Bones by Kris Knits. I love these and they are really the perfect way to use up small bots of yarn you have. You can even replace the squeaker when it goes out.

Don’t leave kitty out of the fun! Make him a Knitted Kitty Interactive Toy by Glitz Knits. You could do this in less than a half an hour!

I couldn’t imagine anything better than a Cat Hoodie like this one from Craft Leftovers. I wonder how she got her cat to agree to wear it?

Another great pattern for kitties is these Knitted Toys from Elizabeth Jarvis via Ravelry. She includes patterns for a fish, bird, bat, snake, mouse and octopus!

Ever Green Knits has a great pattern for a Duck Dog Toy (called “Quack”). I love this one for dogs that are your hunting pals.

If you are big on skulls or pirates, you will love this I-Matey Dog Sweater from Yarn Inspirations.

I absolutely love this free pattern for an Alternative Fisherman’s Knit Snuggle from the Snuggle Project. The Snuggle Project has a mission of getting these snugglers to pets in shelters. Why not make a few to give to your local shelter after you are done with one for your pet?

Hermine J Schwartz has some great Leg Warmers for your dog! These are in Steelers’ colors, but you could make them in any color combo. These would be perfect if you have a dog that likes to bite or nibble at his skin on his legs.

Make this Rainbow Bright Dog Collar and Leash from Amanda Knits and take your pup out in style.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
