Church Bazaar: Many churches hold annual sales around the holidays. Add your handmade arts & crafts to the sell to make a few dollars and easily get your name out in the local community. Sometimes you will have to pay a booth fee, but it is usually a small fee and well worth it to sell some of your goods in an easy location.

Local Arts & Crafts Fair: Many communities have large arts & crafts fairs that have booths for rent. They are often between September and December in preparation for the holidays. If you don’t want to rent a booth by yourself (as these can often be more expensive), find a few other local artists and join together to rent a booth. When these arts & crafts fairs are larger thy also make a great place to get customers from out of your immediate area as many often come in from out of town for these to shop for the holidays.

Ebay: Ebay is the perfect place to list your handmade items in your own store. You can easily list items you have multiples of in lots for larger wholesale purchasers, or you can sell individually. The key to selling on Ebay is to have items listed in the right categories with great photos, competitive pricing, and of course an eye catching title. Look for similar items and then read those listings for ideas on how to make yours stand out. You can use the advanced search options to find out which similar items are selling and at what prices.

Etsy: Creating your own Etsy shop online is a great way to sell handmade art & crafts. You list images and descriptions of your products and connect for easy payment through Paypal. It gives you a virtually free method of connecting with customers worldwide.

Facebook Groups: There are literally thousands of groups on Facebook to sell items. Check for local swap shops, craft groups, or even yard sale groups that allow you to list your handmade items for sale. Make sure you check with group rules before you post to make sure they allow you to promote your own handmade items. Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
