Best Essential Oils to Pack for Travel- Essential oils are a must when traveling. Here are the most useful oils to pack, along with tips on how to use them.

Whether you are grabbing a flight for a fun weekend getaway or doing a cross country road trip with your family, here are the Best Essential Oils To Pack For Travel that are a must on your checklist. Essential oils are a great item to keep in your travel bag as they can help alleviate motion sickness or even ward off germs from a long day at the amusement park.

Best Essential Oils to Pack for Travel

Ginger:  Travel can be one of the worst times to be sick at your stomach, but it is also one of the most common times people feel ill.  When motion sickness occurs, ginger is the number one essential oil for relief.  Whether you use as an inhalation or apply to stomach, pressure points or the bottoms of your feet this is a great essential oil to use for nausea.

Peppermint:  Peppermint is one of the best essential oils to have on hand for numerous reason when traveling.  Much like ginger, it does help with nausea and stomach upset, but it also is great for many other purposes.  Headaches, general pain and staying alert are all great reasons to use Peppermint Essential Oil while on the road.  Diffuse or apply directly in a carrier oil for the most benefit.

Lemon:  Lemon is a favorite for easing stomach upset, as well as helping with clarity and staying alert.  It is also the base for many cleansers.  When traveling you can use this to wipe down surfaces in hotel rooms to brighten the smell and help to sanitize.  Carry a small amount of rubbing alcohol to create an easy to use surface cleaner.

Lavender:  Lavender essential oil is the best solution for helping you to relax and sleep easier when away from home.  Travel can be a very stressful time for everyone, and Lavender helps make it easier for kids and adults alike to relax and sleep peacefully whether in a hotel room or on a guest bed. It is also perfect for use on any skin irritation or condition.  Dry skin, bug bites, scrapes and more can be relieved with a bit of lavender oil applied.

Tea Tree Oil:  This oil is one of the best oils to keep on hand for things like skin conditions, dandruff and anti-bacterial use.  Diffuse or apply directly in a carrier oil to help aid with various skin condition symptoms, and to help protect from illnesses you may have been exposed to.

These are our favorite essential oils to pack for travel since they are all so versatile.  If you purchase from specific companies you can also look into great multi-purpose essential oil blends that are perfect for travel as well.  Remember that these bottles will be accounted for in TSA checks when flying, so pack appropriately and make sure to have labeled appropriately.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
