This all-purpose scrub recipe is perfect for cleaning sinks, counters, bathtubs, and showers.

Use this DIY Rosemary and Lemon All Purpose Scrub to scrub your tub, toilet, and counters without the harsh smell and chemicals of store bought cleaners.

One of the things I hate the most about cleaning products is the harsh smell. Many store brand all-purpose cleaners send me into fits of coughing and leave my eyes burning. I have swapped out many of my usual cleaners for homemade versions that use essential oils and other simple ingredients to make it easier on me and safer for all of us in the house. My requirements were that it smell good, be safe to use and be around the home, and do the job it was intended to do. Luckily, with this Rosemary and Lemon All Purpose Scrub I was able to achieve all 3 of my goals. Try a jar of this all-purpose scrub and see if you don’t love using it to clean sinks, counters, and bathtubs as much as I do!

DIY Rosemary and Lemon All-Purpose Scrub

Rosemary and Lemon All Purpose Scrub Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Borax
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 10 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil

Directions:

Pour half the baking soda, borax, salt, and essential oil in jar.

How to MakeRosemary and Lemon All Purpose Scrub

Replace lid and shake well.

Place remaining ingredients in jar, replace lid and shake again.

Instructions for Use:

Shake a generous amount of the all-purpose scrub powder into your sink, shower, or tub. For best results I like the surface to already be wet with water before I sprinkle the all-purpose scrub on it.

Allow the cleaner to sit for 5-10 minutes.

Scrub with a towel or sponge.

Rinse clean.

FYI: If you didn’t already know it, the lid from grated Parmesan fits perfectly on a standard mason jar. It is awesome for so many uses, including topping your jar of all-purpose cleaner!

Thanks for the natural cleaning remedies. I have tried some of them but will incorporate the ones I have not into my schedule like homemade air freshners and furniture polish. I am not fond of store bought cleaning products because if the chemicals. I will pass this information along to my 3 daughters. Thanks a million.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
