Do you get enough water on a daily basis? If not, try these Easy Ways to Drink More Water. They will help keep your body healthy and hydrated.

I can’t believe there was a time in my life when I barely drank water at all. Considering we are made up of water, I don’t know how I ever got by without drinking it. I mostly drank fruit juices or soda. So while I was getting fluid, it wasn’t as good for me as water would have been. I started drinking more water about 2 years ago when I decided to put in a conscious effort to do so. Here are some Easy Ways to Drink More Water if you are trying to as well.

Easy Ways to Drink More Water

Stock up on fun, reusable water bottles. If you have several to choose from, you won’t have an excuse to not take one with you everywhere. You can even draw marks on the sides to measure how much you should be drinking or buy a water bottle with measured marks on it.

Add some sugar-free natural flavors. If you are one of those folks that doesn’t like plain water, you can add some easy sugar free flavors to your water with fruit or just a simple squeeze from a lemon. There are actually many reasons to drink lemon water specifically.

Set goals and measure them. Just like with any other lifestyle change you are trying to make, start with some goals and a way to measure them. Decide on a small way to start with your changes such as replacing one soda a day with water at first or a specific amount you want to drink each day. Slowly increase your water intake until you reach your final goal.

Make it a habit. One of the easiest ways to drink more water is to make it a habit that goes with other habits you have. Drinking a glass of water doesn’t take but 10 seconds so it’s easy to add to your daily routine. For instance, why not make it a habit to drink a glass of water first thing upon waking or while you are waiting for your car to warm up in the morning?

Eat more spicy foods. There’s something about spicy foods that make us automatically reach for water. While it only mildly helps with the heat of spicy foods, you could add more spicy foods to your diet as a way to make reaching for water more automatic.

Set reminders on your phone. Whenever I need to be nagged to do something, I simply set a reminder on my phone. Set several throughout the day at times you likely will be able to stop and drink water. This will make remembering to do it so simple!

I keep an 8 cup measure with me at all times, it helps me stay on track by allowing me to see just how much water I’ve had throughout the day.

I have noticed that if I have water beside me, I drink more water. I have a metal insulated cup that holds about 24 ounces. I try and drink 3 every day. And I do most days. Another way I got in the habit of drinking more water is the night before, I’d fix up 3-4 pint jars with different fruits and veggies in them for the next day. It was easy to keep a jar with me, even when I went somewhere. I made cozies to cover the jar and keep condinsation off of things.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
