Frugal Holiday Date Ideas- Enjoy these inexpensive dates with your significant other this holiday season. They are an affordable way to spend time together.
Winter is the perfect time of year to spend some quality time with your significant other. The cold winter air, the holiday decorations, and the chance to cozy up makes the holidays one of the best times of year to enjoy frugal date nights. There are so many different options when it comes to holiday date nights. The best part is most of these dates don’t cost much at all!

Frugal Holiday Date Ideas

Go Ice Skating – Ice skating is a fun way to enjoy some quality time with your sweetie. Even if you don’t know how to ice skate, it’s still a lot of fun. You can spend the evening skating on the ice holding hands and helping each other up when one falls. This is a great way to bond and really bring some laughter back into your relationship. Ice skating is typically only going to cost you $5 to $10 per person.

Indoor Movie Night – Depending on what part of the country you live in, it might be too cold to enjoy a night out. However, that doesn’t mean you still can’t have a quality date night. Get a fire going, open a glass of wine, put a blanket on the floor and enjoy some time snuggled up while watching a movie. Indoor date nights are very affordable if not completely free!

Checkout Christmas Lights – There are some communities that really do it big when comes to decorating for the holiday season. Driving or walking around the different communities and enjoying the holiday lights is a nice way to enjoy a night out at a price we can all afford. Make sure to bring your camera and get lots of pictures of you and your significant other together.

Volunteer – Spending your time volunteering might not sound like a great date night but it really is! There is nothing more rewarding than giving back to people in need. Spending your date night volunteering your time provides both of you with a whole new meaning of the holidays. It allows you to do something meaningful together and might even help you grow as a couple.

Play In the Snow – Most areas of the country have a nice blanket of snow come winter. This make the perfect recipe for an adult play date! Get your snow gear on and head out to play in the snow. Build snowmen, sled down hills, throw snow balls at each other, and make snow angels. Playing in the snow gives both of you time to laugh, have lots of physical contact, and be a little silly!

Visit a Christmas Tree Farm – Most families pick out a Christmas tree as a family but there is no rule that says you can’t do it alone. If your kids are pretty little or already in their adult life, make Christmas tree day a date. Skip the pre-cut lots and head out to a Christmas tree farm to cut down your own Christmas tree. You will spend hours walking around the Christmas tree farm looking for the perfect tree. This date allows you to get in a little exercise and some quality time with your partner.

What is your favorite frugal holiday date?

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
