I am not a huge couponer, but getting free stuff with coupons is very easy if you have a few minutes a week to do it. I really enjoy targeting specific things that are really good deals so I can add to my small stockpile here at home. Usually, this means shampoos, toothpaste, and other personal care products. Now, many times with these kinds of stock ups, I only do it when I can get them for free or very, very, cheap. Because I am limited on time each month or week to do my couponing, I have figured out How to Get Free Ftuff with Coupons that doesn’t take a whole lot of digging around. If you are wondering how people get free stuff for stockpiles, here are some couponing tips to help you out.
How to Get Free Stuff with Coupons
Look on social media. Your favorite brands have social media accounts, no doubt. Make sure you follow them, sign up for newsletters, and watch what they are up to. Sometimes, they have spectacular coupons that are even worth a free product for a new product they are coming out with. Make sure to join Facebook groups for couponing as well. They are great resources for getting in on these coupons or being alerted to them when brands post. If you see them, grab them quickly as they are often limited supply such as to the first 500.
Join rewards programs at local big box stores. Rewards programs can be fantastic. With stores like Walgreen’s now doing ‘everyday points’ (points you get for any purchase you make minus things like tobacco, wine, etc), if you shop there a lot, you can stockpile points that never expire and use them when you combine them with coupons to get products for free.
Combine coupons with sales. Watch the sales and match your coupons with them or use an app like Favado to find the best coupon matchups. This is the most effective way to get free items. Sometimes, a coupon will not say that it is limited to a certain size, so this can mean that you can get free stuff because your coupon meets or exceeds the cost of the item. Check for coupons here.
Write companies and tell them how much you enjoy their product. Sometimes, just emailing a company and letting them know you think they are fabulous (and being specific as to why) will get you free coupon items or high-value coupons as a thank you for the feedback. Similarly, if you have a bad experience with a product, brands want to know and will often send you high value or free product coupons to replace the one you had a bad experience with. In both cases, be 100% honest. It is not good for the brand or consumers if people are lying about their experiences, good or bad.
Check out the discount rack in the back of the store. I often hit up the clearance rack in the back of pharmacies, grocery stores, and the end aisles in stores like Target for discounted items. If you have a coupon for that brand, you could very well get it for free.
Combine rebates with coupons. Rebating is something many people used to do and is not something that is done as often anymore. People consider it a hassle when it really isn’t. If you happen to purchase an item that has a rebate, try to combine it with a coupon and get it for free!
Mobile Rebate Apps:
Don’t forget about e-coupons. These coupons can be found on your phone in apps like Target’s Cartwheel. You can often combine these coupons with sales, rebates, and paper coupons to get items for free or nearly free.
