With St. Patrick’s Day on the horizon, you might be looking for some fun ways to celebrate. A Green Feast is a fun way to get together with family and friends, and enjoy all things green! Hosting your own Green Feast is easy, you just need to plan your menu around all things green. The end result is a visually fun St. Patrick’s Day feast, perfect for enjoy with family and friends. Here is what you need to know about how to host a Green Feast of your own!

How to Host a St. Patrick’s Day Green Feast

1. Send out invites.

You can invite family and friends via word of mouth, snail mail, or through social media. When you invite them don’t just let them know the time and place, but invite them to bring their favorite green food as well! This lets them have a little fun in the planning while also posing them a fun challenge. Have them let you know what they will be bringing, so you can fill in any gaps in your own menu planning.

2. Prepare your menu.

Even though guests are bringing their favorite green food, you will still want a variety of others to have on hand.

Green Food Ideas:

  • guacamole and chips
  • green fruit salad that includes kiwi, melon, and grapes
  • green veggies and dip
  • green jello
  • pistachio pudding
  • green candies
  • green cookies
  • fresh items such as lettuce wraps

St. Patrick’s Day Dessert Ideas:

  • Shamrock Rice Krispie Treats
  • Shamrock Sugar Cookies
  • Shamrock Pretzel Pops

Green Beverage Ideas:

Make lime sherbet punch buy spooning 2 quarts of lime sherbert into a punch bowl. Then pour 2 liters of lemon-lime soda over the sherbert. or make these Lime Sherbert Floats.

Add a little green food coloring to clear beverages.

3. Prepare your decor.

Your food is a huge part of the party decor, so you don’t need to do much with decor. If you want, prepare a centerpiece using dollar store St. Patrick’s Day supplies. You can also add rainbow accents to tie in a little more color. White or green carnations can also make a fun centerpiece, as can plastic gold coins or leprechaun hats. Let the food do the decorating for you, and just add small side touches.

4. Prepare your paper products.

Since your food will be so bright, opt for white plates and napkins. They are sure to really make the color of your food pop. You will want to opt for white or clear beverage glasses, as they will show off the color of the drinks well.  Just like the food decorates the party for you, it also eliminates the need for bright or themed paper products.

5. Get the party started!

When guests arrive, arrange all of the green foods on a serving table and serve buffet style. Let guests grab their own food choices and mingle. If you wish, you can play Irish music in the back (check out Pandora for stations) and just allow everyone to munch and mingle.
