These tips for saving money on a beach trip will help you plan a fun trip on a tight budget! How To Save Money On A Beach Trip- Get out and enjoy the sand and sun! These frugal tips will help you plan a fun beach trip even on a tight budget.Summer is here for a little while longer and if you’ve still got a beach trip planned, you might be wondering how you can save money on a beach trip. It can be done with a little bit of dedication and a lot of research beforehand! Follow these tips to save money on a beach trip of your own this year or next!

How to Save Money on a Beach Trip

1. Plan it all out ahead of time. This might seem a little “too” organized for vacation, but you can really save a lot of money by doing this, so it’s important for a frugal vacation! Book your hotel rooms ahead of time because summer is extremely busy for them and they may not have room! Additionally, you’ll want to find some good affordable food places nearby so you don’t spend a small fortune on a restaurant on the beach, unless you want to!

2. Set an allowance! If you plan to do any beachside shopping, set yourself a realistic allowance for the duration of your beach trip. Setting an allowance is one of the best ways to save money on a beach trip because you’ll likely want to save your money for the trip home and/or food! Make sure to stick to your budget because you don’t want to overspend and ruin the beach trip!

3. Scope out free beach activities. The beach is constantly busy during summer and there is always something to do nearby! Many beaches have piers, boardwalks, or shops that you can explore for free! This is a great way to spend some of your trip without spending any money.

4. Carpool! If you are going with friends or other family members, consider carpooling. This will save a lot of money on gas and a lot of wear and tear on your car. If you don’t have to worry about the full price of gas, you can free up some of your budget for other parts of your beach trip. Of course you want to save money on a beach trip, but you also want to be able to spend some!

5. Save up and reschedule for next year! If you are planning this beach trip on an extremely tight budget, consider moving your beach trip to next year! It’s important to save money on a beach trip, but it’s also important to be able to pay your bills. Be realistic with your vacation dreams and only go if you can actually afford to, don’t stretch yourself too thin!

6. Bring a cooler full of snacks. If you don’t want to spend an outrageous amount of money on restaurants near the beach, consider bringing a cooler full of food for the day! You can pack sandwich making contents, some drinks, and Lunchables are a really great beach trip food too!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
