These Weight Watchers Dessert recipes are under 6 SmartPoints on the FreeStyle Plan.

Weight Watchers dessert recipes that are 6 points or less

What is the hardest part of any diet? Dealing with dessert! It can be hard to abstain from the high-calorie desserts, especially when under social pressure from friends and family “to try just a small slice”. And it is difficult to find low-calorie desserts that we can occasionally enjoy.

One of the things I found that helps is for me to completely avoid sweets for 3 -7 days. It is difficult at first, but it gets easier. After going several days without sugary treats, my “sweetness meter” is reset and I find that fresh fruit tastes much sweeter, making it easier for me to make a dessert of fruit.

Another thing I have found that helps is to make and bring my own desserts when going to gatherings. I bring extra to share, but it nice to know that I have something that I can splurge on without blowing my diet.

I have collected 20 low-point Weight Watchers dessert recipes with points listed based on the freestyle plan. Remember that some of the points are based on one serving and some are based on one cookie (so if you consider 2 cookies a serving, you need to double the points).

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
