Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe - Directions for baking it or cooking it in a Crock Pot

This easy Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe is the perfect addition to any party! It also includes directions for making it in a slow cooker.
This buffalo ranch chicken dip is amazing with tortilla chips, toasted baguette slices, pita chips, celery, carrots, and crackers. It is easy to make and can be prepped ahead of time and then baked right before guests arrive.

Another option is to make your buffalo chicken dip in a Crock-Pot. We have directions below for both baking the dip and making it in a slow cooker.

This recipe calls for 2 chicken breasts to be cooked and shredded. You can use leftover chicken if you wish or you can quickly cook the chicken in a pressure cooker or Instant Pot to speed up the recipe prep.

Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded or chopped
  • ½ cup and 2 tablespoons buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded Colby jack cheese
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish

Directions – Oven:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a stand mixer or large bowl, place chicken, ½ cup buffalo wing sauce, ranch seasoning, sour cream, cream cheese, and most of the Colby jack cheese (reserving some for topping). Mix until well blended.
  3. Spread buffalo chicken mixture into small casserole dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Top the dip with remaining buffalo wing sauce and cheese. Return to oven and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until warm and bubbly.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onion.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip in a Slow Cooker

  1. In a stand mixer or large bowl, place chicken, ½ cup buffalo wing sauce, ranch seasoning, sour cream, cream cheese, and most of the Colby jack cheese (reserving some for topping). Mix until well blended.
  2. Place mixed ingredients in a Crock-Pot or slow cooker. Cook on high for 2 hours or until bubbly.
  3. Top with cheese and replace lid until the cheese has melted.
  4. Garnish with sliced green onion. Serve.
