Sweet Buffalo Dip- This homemade buffalo dip is a great way to spice up veggies or chicken. Give it a try for an easy dipping sauce that is sweet and tangy.

I have a confession to make- I have a childish side that insists that I have a dip for nearly everything I eat from meat to veggies. Is that a childish thing?  I love most foods even more with some kind of creamy or chunky dip infusing extra flavor into it. If it has a little kick, even better! Sometimes I don’t have the ingredients for my standby dips on hand and this has caused me to discover one of my favorite ways to make dips and sauces.

Do you ever get to the point when you only have a couple spoonfuls of sour cream in the bottom of the container? Or a couple teaspoons of buffalo sauce or Worcestershire?  Not quite enough to serve its intended purpose but too much to throw out, right? Don’t you dare toss it! Some of my best recipes have come from the bottom of a jar or tub, like this Sweet Buffalo Dip Recipe.

Sweet Buffalo Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp.- 1 T. buffalo sauce
  • 2 tsp.- 1 T. brown sugar

Directions:

  1. If you have just a bit of the sour cream in the container go ahead and mix in all other ingredients until well combined. If you are working from a full tub just go ahead and mix in your serving bowl. Sweet Buffalo Dip mixing
  2. The longer it sits in the fridge, the better. All your flavors will marry and you will have a good consistent flavor throughout- anywhere from an hour to 2-3 days.Sweet Buffalo Dip
  3. Serve with fresh veggies at a party or for an afternoon snack. You can also dip chicken strips or fried favorites like pickles, green tomatoes, or squash.Sweet Buffalo Dip

This dip is equally good with chicken nuggets or these Cornmeal Crusted Fried Green Tomato Fries.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
