Brown Sugar Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup heavy cream or half and half
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon coarse sea salt
Directions:
1. Combine the brown sugar, heavy cream, and unsalted butter over medium-low heat. Whisk frequently for about 5 minutes at a simmer or until it begins to thicken. You want to be sure all the sugar granules have dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
2. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla extract and sea salt until well combined.
3. Allow mixture to cool completely then transfer to a small jar with a tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator. These little 4-ounce mason jars are the perfect size.
