Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treat

Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treat- The salted caramel and chocolate in these Rice Krispie treats put an indulgent spin on an old favorite!

Everyone loves these cereal and marshmallow confections, but this Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treat recipe is one you’ll make over and over again.  Kids love all thinks Rice Krispie, but these are the perfect treat for adults.  Who doesn’t love a good salted caramel chocolate treat?  The combination of these delicious flavors in a classic kids treat makes it a favorite for everyone.

Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treat

Rice Krispie treats are always popular with kids.  Making these will be even more fun!  These salted caramel chocolate covered Rice Krispie treats are tons of fun for kids to help with since you get to roll them into a ball before dipping in chocolate!

Ingredients: 

  • 1 package mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/3 cup salted caramel sauce (we used Smucker’s All Natural)
  • 1 bag semisweet chocolate chips
  • non-stick spray

Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie TreatDirections: 

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add mini marshmallows to melted butter and stir until almost completely melted.
  3. Add in salted caramel sauce and continue to stir.
  4. Pour cereal into large bowl then pour melted marshmallow and caramel sauce mixture over cereal.
  5. Stir until well coated.
  6. Lightly spray your hands with non-stick spray, then make round balls of cereal mixture.  Place these on a cookie sheet, wire rack or waxed paper.
  7. Add chocolate chips to medium microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until melted.  Stir until smooth.
  8. Using a spoon or tongs, cover each Rice Krispie treat with chocolate and place on wire rack or waxed paper to cool.

These Salted Caramel Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect dessert for any holiday, or just because!  They are fun to make with your kids, and they are so delicious everyone will love them.  Nothing is as yummy as one of these with a glass of milk after school.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
