Let’s talk warm weather cocktails for a second, shall we? First, before the HOT! HOT! HOT! weather gets here you’re going to need a game plan in place to cool yourself, friends, and family in short order. This Watermelon, Lemon, and Cranberry Margarita does the cool down thing quite well. And really, what is more summer friendly than ripe, sweet, and wonderfully pink watermelon? We happen to think watermelon should be the official fruit of the summer, don’t you? Of course you do! And one look at this watermelon creation and I think you’re gonna be all in!

 

Honestly, there are so many good and wonderful things to like about out little concoction you would have to be cray cray not to like and enjoy it! First of all, did I mention we have watermelon in this summer sipper? Ripe, sweeter than sweet watermelon bathed in a yummy elixir of additional well-meaning ingredients like watermelon flavored vodka, tequila, and a splash of Bickford’s Traditional Soda!

So, if you are on the lookout for an essential cocktail mix for the long lazy HOT days of summertime, then I think you won’t have to look any further. Plus, whoever met a margarita they didn’t like? And what pairs better with fresh delicious watermelon than watermelon flavored vodka? I know, that’s a dumb question, right?! Tequila isn’t a bad option either!

And do you see the rim around the glass? Of course you do, but did you know it is a delightful mix of both margarita salt and finishing sugar. Ya’ know, a little sweet with a lil’ salt! Perfect!

Watermelon, Lemon, and Cranberry Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 ounce lemon juice
  • 2 ounces watermelon vodka
  • 1 cup watermelon chunks
  • 1 ounce agave nectar
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 2 ounces Bickford’s Traditional Soda Lemon Lime Bitters
  • 1/2 teaspoon of course sea salt or margarita salt and 1/2 teaspoon of finishing sugar for the rim

Directions:

  1. Into the pitcher of a blender add ice, lemon juice, watermelon vodka, watermelon chunks, agave nectar, tequila, cranberry juice, and Bickford’s Traditional soda.
  2. Secure the lid on the blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Rim a margarita glass with agave nectar and dredge the rim through a mixture of coarse sea and finishing sugar.
  4. Pour the frozen cocktail into the glass and garnish with slices of fresh lemon and watermelon.
  5. Serve.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 ounce lemon juice
