Get ready for spring and summer with our minty cocktail. Filled with ginger beer, tequila, grapefruit, and mint, try our Cranberry and Citrus Mint Cocktail
Welcome warm weather with a Cranberry and Citrus Mint Cocktail! This recipe mixes cranberry juice and tequila with muddled mint and a splash of ginger beer.
Psst! This little cocktail newsflash is a reminder that you don’t have to wait for summertime to come to you. In just a few minutes and shake of this and that, you can bring the summer sunshine and good time vibes any time of the year. So, be it rain or shine, put a ray of sunshine in your glass. I often tell folks you don’t have to be a certified mixologist to have a great cocktail. For this Cranberry and Citrus Mint Cocktail I threw together cran-apple juice, agave nectar, ginger beer, tequila, muddled mint, and ice. The results are delicious!
In bartender parlance, to muddle means to apply pressure and twist to release the oils from herbs like mint, rosemary, or thyme or from fruit peels. To muddle you can use a muddling tool or tablespoon. Drop mint into the bottom of a glass or cocktail shaker. Press mint leaves against the bottom of the glass or cocktail shaker and twist to release the oils. That’s all there is to it. Now you’re a muddler.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
