What comes to mind when you think of Independence Day celebrations? Picnics, Ice Cream, Barbecues and Fireworks are just some of the many ways we choose to celebrate every 4th of July.
Here in the Northern Nevada Area we have a lot of great ways to celebrate our countries Independence. Most events are affordable and free.
Star Spangled Sparks Fireworks #StarSpangledSparks (July 3rd)
The 17th annual Star Spangled Sparks fireworks show and Independence Day celebration has been our favorite place to celebrate.
- Kids’Area
Face painting, clowns and magicians roaming Victorian square, as well as an array of rides and activities. The kids’ area will be located on Victorian Plaza, adjacent to Century Theaters, and will include games, a super slide and mechanical rides. Ride tickets will be available for purchase just outside the Kids’ Area. - Food, Drink and Entertainment
Multiple food and drink vendors will be setup providing snacks and refreshing drinks for everyone to enjoy. Also the restaurants inside the Nugget will be extending their hours for some late night dinner after the show. - KKOH Simulcast
The fireworks show will be broadcast live with music over KKOH News Talk 780. Tune in to hear music corresponding with the fireworks.

Comstock Virginia City
The Virginia City Fourth of July Celebration also includes a Fourth of July Parade, a raffle and auction, the Comstock Cowboys Second Amendment Concert. Throughout the day, visitors can stroll the boardwalk, sample sweets, browse the shops and ride the V&T Railroad short line. Fourth of July on the Comstock rocks. Virginia City offers a 30 minute fireworks display that echos off of Mt. Davidson for nearly 30 minutes.
Aces Ball Park
There will be a 4th of July fireworks show over Aces Ballpark following the night’s game against the Tacoma Rainiers.
South Lake Tahoe
Find a nice spot at one of the many South Lake Tahoe beaches and watch the fire works over the lake.
Red White and Tahoe Blue at Incline Village
There is a whole weekend of events planned including a marching band and fireworks.
