There's no need to throw out your old yogurt containers when there are so many ways to recycle them! Here are 10 Frugal Uses for Yogurt Containers.

If your household enjoys yogurt, chances are you have plenty of yogurt cups going into the recycling bin each week. Those yogurt cups sure build up fast, but the great news is there are fun ways to use them! Before you toss that next yogurt cup, take a look at 10 frugal uses for yogurt cups below. It turns out those plastic cups are good for more than just serving yogurt!

10 Frugal Uses for Yogurt Containers

1. Craft a crayon holder.
Clean the cup out, wrap some washi tape or craft paper around it, and you then have the perfect crayon holder. The small cup size is perfect for holding crayons during coloring time and for keeping colors separated.

2. Make a seed starter.
Yogurt cups are the perfect size for growing seeds in. Just wash and poke some drainage holes into the bottom of the cup. Add potting soil and you are ready to plant. If you also have an old salad container on hand, you can make this mini-greenhouse.

3. Organize office supplies.
The flatter Greek yogurt cups fit wonderfully in desk drawers. Use them to hold paper clips, pins, staples, and other small office supply items.

4. Use them as pet food scoops.
Yogurt cups with a wide mouth are perfect when used as pet food scoops. Keep the cup in the bag of food so it is always there when you need it.

5. Use them as sand toys.
Assorted yogurt cups make the perfect sand toys! Pack the sand in and when removed, you have the perfect shape for building sand castles. They can also be used as a scoop to dig with.

6. Make noise makers.
Fill the yogurt container with dried beans or rice. Cover the top with a piece of tin foil. Now just give the cup a shake and listen to the fun sounds.

7. Craft some doll furniture.
Wrap washi tape or scrap paper around the yogurt cup, flip it over, and you have the perfect stool or ottoman for your dolls.

8. Take snacks on the go.
Rinse the cup out and use it for taking snacks with you on the go! The cups are perfect for holding cereal, chips, nuts, pretzels, and any of your other favorite snack foods.

9. Create some fun games.
Kids will love lining yogurt cups up and tossing balls into them. Or, they can try stacking and building with them. You will be amazed at how creative kids can get with a few yogurt cups.

10. Take them on a picnic.
When going on a picnic, place a few rocks in the cup to use as a blanket weight. Or, store your straws or plastic silverware in a cup for easy serving.

There you have it! These 10 ways to reuse yogurt cups are so easy to try. Don’t toss another yogurt cup again before giving it a second life using one of these suggestions!

I take home kids drink cups from the restaurant because they will throw them away as they cannot put them in the industrial washing machines. These lids can probably fit on some of the yogurt cup and will for canned soup or verge 15 oz size. I adl use m for my daughters easel. To hold brushes and to rinse them out in. I’m also thinking that the yoplait cups are a good shape to make the rockets on a rocket ship. Or haven’t tried it with plastic but remember making a telephone with strong and cans?
I’m also alsways thinking about using clear plastic containers or packaging plastic for Windows in a playhouse or school assignment like a mission.

Some really good ideas here. I especially like the first idea as my three children are forever spilling crayons all over the place and I’m forever picking them up ;D

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
