Do you have Vapor Rub in your medicine cabinet? After you have recovered from your cold, here are 10 unexpected uses for Vapor Rub to finish using up the bottle.

Vapor rub is great for easing cold symptoms, but you can use it for a lot more. Here are 10 Unexpected Uses for Vapor Rub that you may have never heard of. Many people love vapor rub and the soothing feelings it brings. As a child, you may remember your parents using vapor rub to ease cold and cough symptoms. Well even as an adult, there are still many practical ways to use vapor rub. Take a look below at 10 uses for vapor rub that you may not be aware of. You will find that vapor rub, such as Vick’s VapoRub, can be quite valuable to have on hand!

10 Unexpected Uses for Vapor Rub

1. Banish bugs.

Mosquitoes don’t care for the smell of vapor rub. Add a dab behind your ears and on your pulse points to help repel them on a warm night.

2. Dry out face blemishes.

If you have acne, vapor rub can be helpful at helping to dry it out. Just add a dab to the acne and let sit. Do not use this method however if the blemish is close to your eyes as you may experience irritation.

3. Relieve headaches.

Stress and sinus headaches especially can be relieved when you use a little vapor rub under the nose. Find a quiet place to relax and breathe the vapor in deeply. It will help you relax and help nasal passages clear up as well.

4. Soothe sore muscles.

Rub vapor rub over sore muscles. It is best to do this after taking a hot shower so the skin is warm and relaxed.

5. Banish dry heels.

If you have rough heels, massage some vapor rub into them. It will help moisturize the skin and make heels soft and smooth. Try this tip at night, covering your feet with socks when done to hold in the moisture.

6. Rid your nose of horrible smells.

If you find yourself having to do a dirty job, place some vapor rub under your nostrils so you smell it instead of the foul odor.

7. Prevent pet issues.

A little vapor rub in the area that your pet is wetting can help prevent future accidents. You can also use some on areas that pets are scratching.

8. Turn your shower into a vapor room.

Place some vapor rub on a cloth and place the cloth in your shower. As it heats it will create vapor steam that can help clear up your nose and ease cold symptoms. You can also make these Vapor Rub Shower Cubes and keep them on hand during cold and flu season.

9. Lessen the appearance of cellulite.

While nothing banishes cellulite, applying some vapor rub to the area can lessen swelling and the appearance. The effect is temporary but great for when you need a pick me up!

10. Moisturize skin.

You can use vapor rub on elbows, knuckles, or on other skin that is dry and patchy.

Vapor rub is handy to have around the house for these ideas and of course for basic chest congestion. Grab a bottle of your own so you have some to resort to should any of these needs arise!
