To use Peppermint oil, does it have to be used in a carrier oil or can it be applied directly to the skin? Thanks!
Rebecca says
It is better to put it in a carrier oil before putting on the skin. Some people are sensitive to the oil applied directly to the skin.

A few years ago I had a hysterectomy. And of course I had a catheter. After surgery the catheter was removed but i could not void on my own for hours and it was very painful. A friend called to check on me and when I told her i could not void she said she would be there in 30 minutes. Well she showed up with a bottle of “Peppermint Oil”. She told me to put a few drops in the container the nurse gave me to pee in that fits on the toilet seat. I did and within 15 seconds I was voiding normally. The strong vapor from the peppermint oil got the flow going and prevented me from having to have another catherter!
