6 Ways to Make Extra Money in College- Here are some ways for college students to make a little extra cash. They're easy and don't require a lot of time.

College is stressful enough without having to worry about money while you’re there. Between classes and everything else that will be on your schedule, you may find yourself without enough time to work a full-time job. If that happens, don’t stress too much. Here are 6 Ways to Make Extra Money in College to help yourself out!

6 Ways to Make Extra Money in College

Resell thrift store finds. Reselling has become a fairly lucrative business for a lot of people. If you’re willing to put in the time needed to do the shopping and shipping, you could potentially make a full-time income with just a few hours a week. Thrift stores and clearance deals are a great place to start. To sell, use Ebay or an Ebay alternative if you prefer. If you have an iPhone there are also a lot of great selling apps that you can use.

Take a survey or two. These days there are a lot of different survey companies around that will pay you for your opinion. You won’t get rich doing them, but you can earn a free gift card or two and maybe even enough to buy your textbooks!

Drive for Uber or Lyft. If the city that you go to college in has Uber or Lyft, you could get paid to drive! Work as little or as much as you want driving people around! You’ll have to have your own vehicle though, and you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of insurance to cover you in case of accident.

Babysit on weekends. If you love kids, you can easily pick up some extra cash by babysitting after school or on the weekends. You’ll want to have references (both character and prior employer) to help you get the job. Make sure that you place ads around the area that you will be watching kids in as well as local Facebook groups. Choose what you will be charging and if you’ll charge per hour or per day.

Mow lawns or shovel snow. Whether it is snow removal or lawn care, working outdoors with your hands can be a very lucrative way for college students to earn extra money. Mowers and weed eaters can be picked up for fairly cheap and a snow shovel is even cheaper. Pick up the supplies you’ll need then run ads locally advertising your new service.

Run errands for busy moms. Being a mother’s helper does two things. First, it usually pays pretty well for the helper. Second, you’ll be helping a busy mom get things done. Mother’s helpers can do anything from run errands to fix meals to wash laundry. It all depends on what exactly she needs done.

Just because you’re in college and busy doesn’t mean that you can’t earn a few extra dollars to help boost yourself when you’re not in class. You’ll just need to be a bit creative and willing to work.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
