7 Free Ways to Lose Weight

Losing weight doesn’t mean you need to lose money too. In fact, there are plenty of ways to lose weight and feel great without spending one cent. Want to know how? Below you will find 7 free ways to lose weight that you can try right now! Losing weight is hard enough, it shouldn’t be budget busting in the process. Here is how you can get started losing weight for free.

7 Free Ways to Lose Weight

1. Download free healthy meal plans.
Search the internet for free healthy meals plans. Meal plans are a great way to help you shop, cook, and therefore eat better and healthier. There is no need to consult a pricey nutritionist. Instead, find free meal plans online. Try sites such as www.healthyeating.org and www.eatingwell.com to get started.

2. Try free work out videos.
You can try Pilates, yoga, aerobics, and more right from the comfort of your home. Check your local library for free work out DVDs. You can also find instructional videos perfect for all abilities on video viewing sites such as www.youtube.com.

3. Sample a free gym trial.
Many gyms offer free trials for up to one week. Sample the local gyms in your area to get an idea of what exercises work for you. You may even be able to meet with a trainer for free. This free trial can be quite informative and give you motivation to really shed the pounds.

4. Take advantage of free clinics and classes.
Call your local health center, hospital, or even library to find out what free weight loss clinics and classes may be offered. Many of these places hold free information sessions, healthy cooking classes, and even exercise classes free of charge. You won’t know until you call, so give them a ring and ask for a calendar of upcoming events.

5. Use what you have for free weights.
You don’t need to invest in pricey weights and dumb bells. Instead, use what you have on hand. You can fill a gallon jug with water for weight lifting, or use canned vegetables. Bags of flour and sugar also work great. Hold these items to your chest or under your arms when doing your work out to offer some resistance and help build muscle.

6. Download free weight loss apps to your smart phone.
Search the app store for thousands of free weight loss apps at your fingertips. With these apps you can count calories, find menu plans, get professional advice, and more. Talk with friends and see which apps they recommend, or talk to your doctor about recommendations.

7. Find a frugal friend to work out with.
Grab a buddy and go for a run at a local park. Or, play tennis together. You can even do a free work out DVD together or search for healthy recipes together. Getting fit with a friend is not only more fun, but free.

Lose weight, not money, when you give these 7 free ways to lose weight a try. You will find that losing weight may be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be expensive! Give these a try and see what sort of results you can achieve.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
