Fall is by far my favorite time of year. The weather is cooling down, yet it’s still pleasant outside. I also love that there are so many festive activities going on. My husband and I make it a point to plan as many date nights as possible during the fall season. This is usually our time to get in some quality time before the very busy holiday season approaches.

Frugal Fall Date Ideas

I’ve listed some of my favorite frugal fall date ideas, hopefully, some of these will inspire a date night for you!

Visit a Haunted House

Every year my husband and I have a date night at a haunted house! Haunted houses are normally very affordable, fun, and makes for a casual night out. You can also look online or at local stores for discount admission coupons, which help make this date night that much more affordable.

Corn Maze

One of the many reasons I love fall is visiting corn mazes! This year make it a point to visit a corn maze with your significant other. Bundle up, grab some warm apple cider, and get lost in a maze. Visiting a corn maze makes for a fun date night that just about everyone can afford!

Drive-In

Change things up a little this fall and watch a movie at the drive-in. The best time to go to the drive-in is during the fall since it isn’t to cold or hot outside. The drive-ins are great because they cost significantly less than a traditional movie theater. Don’t forget to bring in your own dinner and snacks to save even more money!

Fall Festivals

Visiting a fall festival is a great family activity, but it’s also a great date night activity. Get some romance and fun back into your life by playing carnival games, riding the Ferris wheel, and eating cotton candy. Truly enjoying time together and being a little goofy is good for any relationship!

Hiking

Fall is the perfect time of year to take in nature. There is a crispness in the air, the leaves are changing and the scenery just looks downright beautiful. Spend a weekend morning hiking through nature with your spouse. Make sure to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic while you’re out hiking. Typically, going on a hike doesn’t cost anything at all! Try out different hikes in your area and be sure to pack the camera!

Visit a Brewery

Beer and fall just seem to go hand in hand. Take your sweetie to a local brewery and enjoy some different types of beer. Going to a brewery is a nice change from the traditional date of wine tasting and it gives you a chance to try some new flavors. Most breweries don’t charge much for a tasting session, since they are hoping you will purchase from them. Do not feel obligated to buy any beer, especially if you are not a big beer drinker.

Don’t forget to look at the local deal sites for discounts on local fall activities.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
